Background
LendingWise grew out of the broker-to-lender relationship. Before it had a name, founder Chris Fuelling was a mortgage wholesale account executive at Alliance Bancorp. Sitting between brokers and lenders, he saw firsthand how hard it was for brokers to submit deals for pricing and processing, and set out to connect the two sides better. The full story is on the Origin Story page.
LendingWise launched in 2017 as an LOS & CRM for commercial private money lenders and brokers. It is bootstrapped, and its team grew from 5 to 20 while building an end-to-end roadmap: CRM, LOS, marketplace, draw management, servicing and fund management, supporting brokers, lenders and banks. In 2025, AI was connected into the core platform architecture, which LendingWise uses to build faster and to backfill its own roadmap and its clients’ roadmaps.
Mission: “Empower the lending community with a cloud based, centralized CRM, LOS & Servicing platform fueled by the latest Fintech technology.”
Vision: “Every loan, from the first lead to the final payoff, runs on one connected, intelligent system, so lenders spend their time on borrowers & deals instead of busywork.”
Core products
- CRM for lenders: individual borrowers, entities, entity members, loans with many properties, brokers and 3rd-party contacts (appraiser, title, attorney, inspector and more), with email and communications synced to the loan and an automation rules engine for email, SMS, tasks and webhooks.
- Loan origination software (LOS): Quick App and Full App web forms per loan program with document upload, required docs by program, configurable fields, workflows and guidelines, credit decisions and conditions, exceptions management, and a doc template engine with built-in e-sign.
- AI Doc Review Agent: scans and validates every uploaded document in real time against each lender’s own pass, fail and verification-needed rules, so borrowers see instantly what needs to be re-submitted. Live in production.
- Lender marketplace: match loans against lenders and note buyers, send financing requests from the loan file and work deals in deal rooms.
- Draw management: scope-of-work budgets, borrower draw requests line by line, inspections and holdback tracking, with funded draws handed off to servicing.
- Loan servicing: an immutable double-entry ledger, daily interest accrual, payment waterfalls, late fees, payoff quotes, statements and a borrower portal.
- Fund management: evergreen or closed-end funds, loan allocations and capital stack, distributions and waterfalls, NAV strikes, an investor portal and fund offering pages for capital raising.
- Integrations: native integrations, webhooks, an Open API with full create, read, update and delete on loans, borrowers, documents, properties and tasks, and a released MCP server that connects AI agents and AI chatbots to LendingWise data.
Loan types supported: Real estate loans (bridge, fix & flip, rental/DSCR, construction and commercial real estate), business funding (SBA, MCA, working capital and more), equipment financing, and custom loan programs with their own fields, required docs, workflow steps and guidelines.
Services: implementation and training, outsourced loan processing and underwriting, and lending website templates.
Audience and use cases
LendingWise serves four main audiences:
- Loan brokers: a CRM, branded loan applications, a borrower document portal and a marketplace of lenders and note buyers.
- Private lenders: one loan file for every seat, from brokers and loan officers to processors, underwriters, closers, servicing, fund managers and investor relations.
- Mortgage lenders & bankers: business-purpose loans (DSCR, bridge, fix & flip, construction) on their own platform, separate from agency loans.
- Banks: commercial and CRE loan origination that runs beside the bank’s core with two-way integration, plus custom modules when needed.
Common use cases:
- Capturing leads and broker submissions through white-labeled web forms and portals
- Collecting and reviewing borrower documents automatically, with AI review on every upload
- Running processing, underwriting and closing on one loan file with per-program workflows
- Generating term sheets and closing documents from loan data, signed with built-in e-sign
- Placing loans with lenders and note buyers through the marketplace
- Managing construction and rehab draws, then servicing the loan to payoff
- Allocating loans to funds and reporting to investors through an investor portal
- Connecting AI agents and chatbots to lending data through the LendingWise MCP server
Clients and case studies
- Cross River Bank (New Jersey bank, over $12B in assets under management): after 12 months with a much larger LOS provider that fell behind schedule, Cross River brought its CRE lending platform to LendingWise, which delivered a fully customized platform within eight months, including custom CRE fields, index-based calculations, CRE cash-flow analysis, granular permissions by loan stage and custom document generation. Case study.
- LNH Capital: “We grew our loan origination volume from $40M a year to $40M a month!” (Adonis Lockett, CEO, LNH Capital)
- HouseMax Funding: a hard money lender that manages its borrowers, broker network and private money deal flow on LendingWise. Case study.
